.. SATISFY HUNTING INSTINCTS WITH TOYS

Cats reach maturity & can stop growing after 2 or 3 years, this is also when their hunting instincts settle but they still like to play.

Want to dissuade your cat from bringing in live or mangled creatures from the garden?

The first way to protect wildlife is to keep cats indoors during and in the approach to the dark hours when their hunting instincts are most active.

Leaving these miniature toy mice randomly around the house from time to time, or skiding one across the floor in front of your cat, can help to trigger & satisfy play/hunt instincts, while you have fun with your companions.

Cats really enjoy variety, provide an array of stimulation by changing differing toys from time to time.

TIP: To avoid cats becoming bored of their toys, don't leave them lying around all the time. Remove them, put them away & get them out at a later date. This should make their re-appearance a fun novelty.

Another handy tip for satisfying a hunting need, is to leave titbits (dry biscuits) randomly around the home. Your cat will enjoy a rewarding hunt/scavenge/search or just have a pleasant surprise when they come across them now & then.

If you want to dissuade hunting, an alternative or more appealing activity should be made available

Laser toys can be great fun & excellent enrichments to burn up pent up energies (it can also be great fun for us).

Care should be taken to avoid shining the light or reflecting the laser directly into a cats sensitive eyes!

A treat should be available at the end of the game, so that they are not simply left frustrated by the their prey escaping them.
