The Dogs of Alghero

It is not only feral cats who need shelter and care

Tamara, Max and Benji were found almost at deaths door. They were extremely underweight, laying in the scorching sun full of fleas, ticks and ear mites. They could not be left to die, so they were brought to Silvanas familly home. The cats did not think much of them at first, in fact some decided enough was enough and moved out (until meal times when they would sneak back again). The remaining cats lived happily alongside the dogs until they tried to eat the feline food, then squeals would be heard - coming from the poor dogs.

The dogs were moved to boarding kennels as the council would not take any responsibility for them. They wanted to put them in the only rescue centre in Alghero, which has 6/7 dogs crammed into small kennels, un neutered and ill, or aggressive. Silvana is paying 30 Euros a day to keep them in the better conditions of Animalandia boarding kennels. Please help to keep them in good conditions until homes surface for them.

Little Chicco arrived thin and starving in our garden in Alghero. As you can see, a little TLC and lots of food, he is picking up and put on weight. He is a dear.
